We have an offer? Make it THREE!

So starts the bidding war!

We have an offer…

So we got an offer on our condo.  It’s a very good offer and as of this morning we’re in attorney review.  I should be ex-static, jumping up and down and delirious, but somehow my excitement is muted.

Now starts the hard part.  We have to find a new house, one that Bill & I both like and will most likely stay in until the kids are out of high school.  Time crunch too.  These folks want to be close in 3-4 weeks.  Remember this blog?

Here’s my #1 choice.  And believe it or not, here’s Billy’s #1 choice.  The only problem with Billy’s #1 is that he wants to put a third floor on his house, yup take off the roof and lift it up to make a third floor master suite.  Can you say $$$$?

We meet with our Realtor this week and check out the other houses on the list.  I’ll be more excited once we’re through attorney review.  Updates to come…

Cleanse is OFFICIALLY done.

So a week of cleansing, actually only 5 days, left me physically exhausted and sick.  I wasn’t on top on my game when I started so I’m sure it’s partly my fault.

Final poundage…213.8 (my lowest weight since college when I somehow gained 40 pounds after phen-fen).

Total lost is a 7 day period… 13.6!  Yes, extraordinary but at a price.

I just might try this again in a few months and see how I do then.  Next time I’ll be sure to be 100% healthy from the get-go.

So here’s the diet for those who were wondering.  Believe it or not, it can from a licensed nutritionist.  The cleanse is ONLY one week then a week of metabolism increasing recipes.  I’m going to try that later.  Currently I’m working on getting rid of this virus.

Drink tons and tons of water.  Eat one fruit every hour all morning.

Lunch is a salad with lots of veggies dressed with vinegar and 1T olive oil.  Protein is 10 raw cashes or almonds.

Eat on veggie every hour until dinner.

Dinner is a salad with lots of veggies dressed with vinegar and 1T olive oil.  Protein is 10 raw almonds or cashews.

Continue with hourly veggies but eat nothing after 8PM.

Water, water, water!  flavor your water with cucumber, orange or lemon slices.

Saturday and Sunday you add lean protein to your salads instead of the nuts.

Here is my list of the top ten things that make ME happy, no one else BUT me.  This is my selfish list.  It’s only a list, not a real day or anything.  Don’t get too excited and put me on the worst mother list yet.

1.  Peace and quiet…when you say, “do you hear that?” and the person you’re with says “No.”  “Exactly!”

quiet

2.  A clean and tidy house which leads me to a clean and tidy mind.

3.  Empty laundry baskets which means there is NO dirty laundry.

4. A full tank of gas.

5.  Ordering dinner in.

6.  Reading while laying on a comfy blanket under a tree.

7.  Napping in the sun.

Update on the cleansing diet…

Boy, yesterday sure did suck!  I think my biggest problem is the caffeine with-drawl.  Motrin has become my best friend.  We are all a bit under the weather here so that didn’t make the day any better either.

Here’s what I ate…

1banana

1pear

1plum

large salad with bibb lettuce, celery, carrots, tomato and cucumber for lunch.  Dressed with vinegar and 1 T olive oil

10 cashews

celery sticks

a few grapes

another salad with the same stuff for dinner

10 almonds

LOTS of water

End result…weigh in at 221.8…that’s 5.6 difference from yesterday but I hadn’t been that high of a weigh in months so maybe it was a fluke.  Let’s see how the rest of the week goes, if I can make it.  ;o)

Thursday 13

It seems like I just did this yesterday…errr…I think I did.

Next week I begin a cleansing diet with my two sister and mother and then some crazy metabolism increasing diet.  In light of the restricted diet I will embrace next week, I’m listing my favorite foods.  Who’s hungry?

1.  Soft serve vanilla ice cream with warm peanut butter sauce.  And make it a large.

2.  Warm fried zepoles with powered sugar

3.  Carrott ssouffle

4.  Sicilian cheese pizza

5.  Sea Salt baked pita chips

6.  Julie’s Oreo Balls aka White Trash Truffles

7.  Peanut Crusted Mahi-Mahi with Satay Sauce and jasmine coconut rice

8.  Warm, slightly under baked, gooey brownies from a box – who doesn’t love Duncan Hines?

9.  Lobster dripping with garlic lemon butter

10.  Chocolate chip pancakes with real fresh whipped cream

11.  Ameretto Mudslides – gotta have some alcohol

12.   Chocolate covered pretzels and potato chips

13.  Carrot cake with thick cream cheese icing (no raisins, please)

You can add all of these to the list of what I won’t be eating anytime soon.

Must diet…(groan)

Fight the hunger…

Technologically retarded

Yesterday, after dinner, we wanted to go for a walk on the boardwalk to enjoy the sunset.  Wagon, husband and three wee ones in-tow, we set off.  My oldest daughter is a big fan or chasing after the “eagles” (seagulls) so off to the sandy part I went with her.  She ran, made silly faces, screamed and scared those eagles away.  I walked the water edge as it lapped at my heals and turned my toes bright pink from the chill.

In college I read a poem that called the beach “the oceans cemetery.”  To this day I wish I had never read that poem.  Every time I walk the sandy beaches I look at the life that once was and has now washed ashore.  I watch the seagulls scavenging for tasty morsels of the unfortunate, circling like vultures.  It’s not quite the same.

Present day…I walk at the water edge watching the monstrous waves angrily pounding the shore line.  I’m looking for sea glass, hoping to find just one piece.  And there it is!  I see a Sponge Bob cracker wrapper, face up, in a perfect square, in the middle of a bunch of seaweed.  Sponge Bob has washed ashore, another victim of the raging seas.

I called this blog “Technologically retarded” because I snapped a shot of this scene with my phone/camera.  Seems like I need another lesson on how to use the silly thing because it’s not there anymore.  But the picture in my head is priceless.
